Cardamon plant (इलायची)

• The Plant: Grows in dense, graceful clumps with leafy "pseudostems" formed by tightly overlapping leaf sheaths. The plant has an economic lifespan of 10-15 years. 
• The Leaves: Alternate, distichous, and linear-lanceolate, reaching up to 24 inches long, with a strong, spicy scent when crushed. 
• The Flowers: Produced on long, creeping panicles at the base of the plant. They feature greenish-white to pale lilac petals with a prominent purple-veined white or pink lip. 
• The Pods (Capsules): The fruit is a small, 0.3 to 0.8 inch oval, three-sided pod that is pale green or yellow. Each pod holds 15-20 small, sticky, reddish-brown to black angular seeds.
